The logical outcome is to fly and be done with it, and don't worry. You can't change anything by worrying about it, so once you make the decision to fly, consider it done and be ready to roll with whatever happens.

I am going to Spain in 3 weeks, flying from DC to NY to Madrid. There could be a blizzard on the day I am supposed to fly, and cause me big delays. Do I worry about it? No, because I can't do anything about it.

As for terrorism, I live in Washington, DC. I'm probably safer somewhere else, so I certainly don't worry about that. You have a much greater chance of being killed in a car accident a mile from your house than you do being involved in a terrorist act.

Remember the mantra:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Not that you asked, but a gigantic and unforeseen rainstorm came up on the day of MY wedding and flooded out all the roads on the way to our "honeymoon haven". So it's not just a flight delay that might spoil your plans.

Twenty-eight years later, I'm still asking my husband, "When are we going on our honeymoon?" His answer, unfortunately, is unprintable.

However, as a previous poster pointed out, if your plans turn out to be less than perfect, it's always a good story for your grandchildren!
