Flying Phobia?
How do you feel about flying on 9/11, would it stop you making a trip if you had to fly on that date? I am flying that day, must admit did originally want to fly on the 12th but flights were full, but plenty of seats still available for 11th.

If I were going on a great vacation, I wouldn't hesitate to fly on any day!!! Don't worry. I would go.

I remember feeling that way several years ago for a required business trip, but at this point wouldn't even think about it personally. don't know where you're headed, but does seem odd that a sunday would have more availability than a monday, unless you're being crowded out by us business travelers. Monday's are a big day for many workers.

In the process of making return air reservations for my husband after he delivers our son at college. 9/11 is the optimal travel date - I asked him if that was OK, and he did not have a problem with it.

Personally, I've flown on 9/11 several times since that day and love it. You can (or used to at least) get cheaper air fares and the flights aren't usually very crowded. This may be changing a little more now, but there's really nothing to worry about any more than any other day.

Think of it as a way to honor those we lost -- not caving to the fear, and remembering them.

After what happened to us in London this month, I agree with you Cassandra.

On every 9/11 for the rest of my life I will look back on that day with sadness and respect for those who were lost. But I will not live my life in fear, and I most certainly would fly on that date.
