Flying out of Miami 9/3...HELP!

We are stopping in Miami tomorrow in route to Aruba. We are terrified the flight will be cancelled due to hurricane & we will be stranded. The flight is still scheduled & the weather channel website indicates Miami is fine but I need advice. Cancel & reschedule w/ trip insurance or take a chance? HELP!!!

I really have seen no indication that flights will be cancelled yet tomorrow. Saturday is another matter. How late? Unless late in the day, I'd really think you'd be fine. And to be honest, the weather will probably be great south -- in Aruba.

Landfall is predicted for early AM on Saturday. I think you will be fine tomorrow. There's nothing here, weather-wise, no wind, nothing...yet.

Our local news in New Orleans mentioned at the Fort Lauderdale airport is closing at 10am tomorrow. In fact, the Southwest website shows ALL Fort Lauderdale flights on that airline cancelled for Friday.

If FLL is closing, it's possible MIA will experience some disruption tomorrow afternoon as well.

Oops. Guess you need to check with your carrier.

The size of this hurricane could be the problem. Although landfall (the eye of the storm) isn't scheduled until 2A on Saturday (it could have changed but that was the last time I had), the rest of the storm will be hovering before then.

I hope you get to go. I would love to be heading to Aruba right now. I don't know where else they would re-route you. Maybe New Orleans?

Some of the major airlines are stopping flights in the early afternoon. I expect to see the other airlines do the same. http://www.miami-airport.com/html/news_alert.html

I'm pretty sure the national news just said that Orlando had closed at noon today (Thursday) and would remain closed through the weekend. Is that correct? Assuming the other airports could follow suit.

Had to call Alaska Airlines today for something and they indicated flights were being cancelled in Miami and Orlando today and they figured the airport would close tomorrow.

Why don't you call the airline and see if they can rebook you through another airport?

The 2.20pm AA flight MIA AUA is cancelled due to HF....Best of luck!
