Flying Hawaiian Airlines from Brisbane to LA

We are looking at flying from Brisbane to LA and back to Honolulu on the way home to Brisbane in late June 2014. From what I can find Hawaiian airlines looks to be best option both price wise and that we don't have to go to Sydney. Would appreciate any comment on experience with this airline. Looking at that their website it appears that the in flight entertainment may be limited to either watching on the overhead screen or renting an ipad mini.
Thanks

They are one of the highest rated in customer satisfaction and on time performance. We have had good experiences flying Hawaiian.

I have only done Las Vegas to Honolulu round trip and a couple of interisland flights on Hawaiian but my experiences were OK. I would rate JetBlue a little higher, Alaska about the same, and the other US airlines I have experience with lower to a lot lower than Hawaiian.

Have a good trip.

I've only flown them from LA to Honolulu, the attendants are very friendly and they play nice Hawaiian music on a TV while people are boarding. They are one of the few airlines that still serves free hot meals (usually choice of chicken or pasta although I think they also have a turkey sandwich option).

Just as good if not a bit better than most of the miserable choices that we have for flying these days.

I've had good experiences with Hawaiian. The only thing is if you're flying first class, don't expect a lie-flat or angled-flat seat.

I'm crazy for Hawaiian Air. I wish they flew everywhere I needed to go! I use them Seattle to Honolulu every year. LOVE that airline.

The best thing about flying Hawaiian is it probably means you're going to Hawaii, are in Hawaii or were just in Hawaii.
