Fly home from LAX or San Diego
 

We are planning a trip in August to California, travelling from San Francisco to San Diego.

It looks like we can save about $400 if we fly home from LA, rather than San Diego.

Driving wise, how far is San Diego from LA. My thought is maybe we could bypass LA on the way down, go to San Diego and then do LA last.

We are planning 2 weeks for this trip.

Looking for someone with some experience to help me out!

Give or take about 2 hours depending on time of day..week or weekend..
If you are going to LA, you can still do the one way rental and drop it off at the LAX airport location.
$400 is a lot of money to spend on other fun things!
Where are you staying in SD?

i really hate going to the la airport compared to san diego. but, $400 is a lot of money to me so i'd do la.

Question....where will you be flying to? Maybe one of the other Southern California airports will fit your needs.

Before they had cheaper, direct flights to San Diego, we used to fly into LA and drive down all the time. Saved us a lot of money, and the drive is not bad.

I do recommend visitng LA last..that way you'll not worry about traffic or accidents making you miss your flight.
