FLORIDE VS HAWAII IN JUNE
 

I HAVE BEEN TO HAWAII THREE TIMES AND WANT TO PLAN A NEW VACATION NEXT SUMMER. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW FLORIDA IS IN JUNE AND WHERE I SHOULD STAY (ON THE BEACH)AND WHAT TO SEE AND DO. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE <BR>

I have only been to Hawaii once and to Florida many times. To me, there is no comparison. The beaches and the weather in Hawaii seem perfect to me. We just returned from Florida (Disney World) at the end of June and it was so horribly hot, humid and crowded that I am taking a break from Disney for several years. If I could afford Hawaii every year, that is where I would go. Dawn

Inland Florida during the summer can be really unpleasant. If I were forced to go to Florida in June, I'd head to the Gulf Coast, Naples, Sanibel, Ft. Myers or even the Keys. It sure doesn't compare to Hawaii though

I've been to St. Petersburg, FL , Pensacola, and Destin, FL. They are no comparison to Hawaii. Although the Pensacola to Panama City area have soft powdery white sand and emerald water, there is no lush feeling to it because there is no palm trees, etc. You only have sand, water and sea oats. Due to volcanic area, Hawaii's sand is not powdery white and soft. <BR> <BR>Cathy

Just went to Florida this past June. It was hot, humid, crowded and drove me nuts! I need another vacation! While St. Augustine Beach was nice, Orlando was a nightmare! Never been to Hawaii but based on all I have heard there would be no choice, Hawaii all the way!

I have family all over the state of florida and I'll only visit Oct-April. The summer is miserable. All you do is try to go from one air-conditioned area to the next. Just walking from a parking lot to your destination makes you drip.

The answer is clearly Hawaii. Noach, stop posting about places you've never been to.

Thank you for that correction. I would point out that ending the phrase with "you idiot" would also be redundant, as it is addressed at Noach.

The people who bash and trash me obviously feel threatened by my intelligence, insight and originality and so they put me down to make themselves feel better. <BR> <BR>I'm no genius, it's just that they are so dull and boorish...

I have lived in Florida for 15 years now. I am in the Tampa Bay area. Yeah it does get hot over the summer month's but I am from Pennsylvania and lived in Delaware and Maryland as well and believe me it get's just as hot over the summer there also. I am going to Hawaii in Sept. which I have heard on this site is extremely humid but when you vacation, you either deal with it or plan your trip at a better time of year. My family in PA complain's about the heat there all the time and some day's their temp. is higher than our's in Florida. Let's face it, summer is hot many place's. I will never live any where other than Florida. I happen to love it here. The evening's usually have a breeze. If your visiting Disney, of course it will be crowded and hot! That is why the local's visit over the cooler month's. But if you think summer is crowded in the park's try the winter when all the snowbird's are here for the winter. The crowd's are unbelievable then as well.

Let me add that Sarasota Beach, Lido Beach and Siesta Key(voted #1 Beach) are great place's to stay on the beach. <BR>

Pam: people who say Hawaii is 'very humid' aren't making the most of their trip planning opportunities. Staying away from the rainy areas (northern and western parts of the islands for the most part) and near the water I've never been bothered by the humidity in 6 trips there. Breezes are usually pleasant and evenings can be cool many months. No comparison whatsoever to the humidity of the midwest and southeast US.

Pam don't worry about the humidity in Hawaii, just returned a few days ago, it was a piece of cake. You live in a very humid place as do I, so you will have no trouble with Hawaii's humidity. And don't forget the trade winds!! Wonderful!!!!!!! Enjoy your trip.
