Florida trip in November for romantic getaway

My husband and I would like to plan a getaway for the first week in November. Considering Florida, but want to make sure the weather is warm enough to enjoy the beach, biking, walking, etc. I know it is still hurricane season, but if we luck out with "good weather" is it reasonable to expect to be on the beach? We'd like to fly out of Newark or Atlantic City direct to Florida. Any suggestions on where to go to enjoy nice beaches, walking, biking... a low-key romantic getaway without kids?
Thanks!

You can use the trip planner on wunderground to see historic temps/weather anywhere you're considering. Still no guarantee of what you'll get, but....http://www.wunderground.com/tripplanner/index.asp

Head as far south as possible. Maybe Key Biscayne on the east coast (fly to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale) or Sanibel/Naples area on the west coast (fly to Ft. Myers). Lauderdale-by-the-sea is also good for low-key simple.

November is usually one of Florida's best weather months. November is late hurricane season, but still has low risk of storms.

Your activities sound like Sanibel and Captiva to me. The Gulf water will be warmer than the Atlantic. Captiva is a nature preserve and has beautiful bike paths. Sanibel is a famous shelling beach.

From Newark, you will be able to fly direct to any of Florida's airports. Closest to Sanibel is Fort Meyer's RSW (Regional Southwest) airport. If you find rates high, compare to Tampa or Orlando. A couple of hour drive, but airfares are always more competitive at the larger airports.

Have a great trip!

Marco Island is great-one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. You can fly into Ft. Myers, rent a car and drive about 45-60 minutes to Marco.

I'd fly into JAX & go to Amelia Island. Stay in a B & B in the Old Town.

It might be too cold at Amelia Island because it is very close to Georgia. I wouldn't want to risk it when there are so many places in south florida.

Miami is always warm and there are many places to go and see. I would avoid South Beach if you're looking for a calm afternoon lying out. Instead I would suggest Key Biscayne specifically Crandon Park. If you're looking for something extra special I recommend the charter service Action Catamarans, where you and your husband can enjoy a romantic sail around the coast of Florida.

Here are some helpful links. Enjoy your trip.
