Florida Seasonal Rentals

Any suggestions for areas in FL where we might find reasonable rental for one bedroom apt/condo for two/three months next year? Prefer west coast, southern end, not too remote of a town not necessarily right on the water. Golf not an issue. Will be retired by then and want to see if we would like to winter in the south and not sure how to go about finding a clean, reasonable rental.

That is exactly what we did 25 years ago, it paid for itself and now we retired and have a beautiful 2 bedroom condo.
Try Pomano Beach Club - it's on the Ocean - the units are divided into 2 towers (North and South) we have 2 pools, club house (directly on the beach), library, fitness center - storage areas, security desk, under ground parking, nice community all ages - (not retirement)I know they have a web site - (try google search) one and 2 bed rooms are available -

Donna, email me and I'll send you the name of the person we used, and some other realtors in the Ft. Myers area. We live about 20 miles from Ft. Myers. You didn't say what price range you were looking for, or if you want in a gated community, or strictly retirement area.
We are quite happy here, although it gets very hot and humid in the summer.
I can help, but first you'll have to define "reasonable."

Even more than your definition of "reasonable", we need your approximate dates. Even in Naples, which is at the top of the price range, you can get a seasonal rental for half or less the price in May, June, and July than you'll pay in February, March, and April. Is that a possibility?

Patrick: The end of the post mentions "winter" so I think we can assume she's thinking Jan-Mar.

Duh, I just made an eye appointment. Read that post three times and still didn't catch "winter".

Try the local Chamber of Commerces websites to get a list of real estate or property management firms in the area you want or the visitors bureaus websites. Do a google search. Or try the local newspapers as most are online now.

http://www.newspaperlinks.com/home.cfm
