Florida: Sarasota to Myakka State Park

Would like to spend few hours in Myakka State Park. Does anyone know if there is a tram/shuttle/bus or any public transport to Myakka? I am into walking and would enjoy spending some time there if its possible to get there without a car. Have been there many times with spouse so am familiar with areas I'd like to visit. My hotel is on Clark Rd. just off I-75 so its roughly 10 miles from hotel. Not sure how much a taxi would cost to drop me off and return to park to pick me up. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

Taxi is your only option. Unfortunately there is no public transportation available.

Just call Green Cab/Night Ride or the usual suspects, Yellow, American and get a quote.

We just returned from a weekend camping trip at the park. It was wonderful.

Many thanks for response. I will ask Taxi service to give me price when I arrive Sarasota. Will also ask at hotel if others go out to park as that way we might be able to share the ride and split cost.

Just so you know, it's about 10 miles from where you're staying to the park front entrance, but it's another couple of miles to the concession area where you can rent kayaks, canoes, bikes, have a bite, do a little shopping (a very interesting store). There is an entrance fee to the park for day use but I believe the cab driver will be allowed to get in for free as long as you explain the situation and s/he leaves right after you get dropped off.
