Any experiences with either Palm Island Resort or other rentals on the island?

Are you talking about Little Palm Island in the keys? If so, it has a wonderful reputation, both for facilities and food, but is very pricey. The island itself is small and there are no other facilites - either accommodations or restaurants - there.

No, this is a different Palm Island, closer to Sarasota.

If you don't get any responses here, you might check out tripadvisor.com for Sarasota. Maybe someone there could be helpful.

I've never heard of this resort. If you stay there and it ends up being good, please let us know. We're always looking for good new places to recommendation.

yes, that's the place. We've booked a private rental on the island. I'll report back after our trip. First impression is that it seems like a less visited Sanibel.
