Florida over Thanksgiving
 

We are looking at flying into Florida, renting a car and using the week to sightsee, check out places to stay in February and relax on the beaches..we want to look at the Siesta Key area in particular...what airport should we fly into? We don't mind driving a couple of hours either way...any suggestions?

Where are you flying from?
There is an airport in Sarasota but the bigger/closer one would be Tampa International.

Detroit...

You'll want to make reservations as soon as possible as that's the height of the season there.

You might also want to look at Longboat Key just north of Siesta.

For Siesta Key, Sarasota airport is the closest, but Tampa is only about an hour and 20 minutes away. Siesta Key has a beautiful beach and if the beach is a high priority for you I would highly recommend this area.
