florida keys: snorkel in January?

thinking about key largo for a quick January getaway. Not sure if we'd be able to snorkel without wetsuits at that time. Advice? thanks.

You be the judge, water temperature will most likely be somewhere in the mid 60's to 70. It is in the high 80's during the summer.

Water temps there in Jan are like Cape Cod in August. You will most likely want a wet suit.

I just wanted to correct the misconception mentioned regarding water temperatures at Key Largo. The ocean temperature there rarely ever drops below 70 degrees and is general between 72 - 74 degrees in January. Wet suits are almost never needed unless there happens to be a cold front which can take the water temperature down to 70/71 for a few days.
