Hurricane season....but, better than now...if you go now, travel down I-75...or go to the west side of state.

The fires shouldn't cause you any problems. unless of course you plan on traveling to the towns where the fires are occurring. Stay west of the state if your traveling via automobile, and bring lots of sunscreen. We are having an usually hot summer here. Sept/Oct is good to travel if you prefer. may be a little cooler then. (emphasis on little cooler). However, many Canadian snowbirds start to head this way at during those months too. So factor that in as well. All in all. Come on down! the fires will hopefully be done soon. The entire state isn't a big bonfire. Ha!!

Two smaller fires in Wekiva broke out today because of lightning. We are finally (after 120 dry days), getting the afternoon showers Florida is so famous for. The winds have died down and since we now have firefighters from all over the world plus the Air Force and National Guard, most fires are under control and people are going back to their homes (if there still is one). Avoid I-95 especially south of St. Augustine, north of Melbourne and travel should be okay.

July and August are always hot. Highs in the mid 90's lows in the 70's depending on which part of the state. Captiva/Sanibel or Marco Island are good choices as is Panama City and the rest of the Peninsula. Orlando has been untouched by fires but has had some very smokey days. The smoke has not been a problem today. As with all of our rain, we get lightning. We hope this doesn't cause more problem fires, especially in the drier areas.
