Florida Clearwater Sand Key Accomodations

We are a family of four adults, mom, dad and two adult children. Where do you suggest to stay on Sand Key? We will be flying from all over the States for just a weekend. Accomodations and fun restaurant suggestions very much appreciated! Thanks

We enjoyed the Sheraton Sand Key.

My recollection is that there are only two places to stay on Sand Key: the Radisson and the Sheraton across the street. We've stayed at the Radisson several times, and though it was nice initially it went down on each subsequent visit. We walked through the public areas of the Sheraton and they didn't look much better, though the hotel itself is on the beach and as far as I know the rooms could be wonderful.

The two biggies are the Radisson and the Sheraton. Either are fine. They are both at the edge of the Sand Key bridge which takes you right over to Clearwater Beach. If you don't like either the Rad. or Sher. you might want to look at hotels on Clearwater Beach.

Restaurants on Sand Key: try the Columbia it is Spanish cuisine and also has an outdoor area and a bar area overlooking the Intercoastal waterway where you are sure to see some dolphins. Try it for lunch for their yummy Cuban sandwiches or their yummy sangria anytime.

Clearwater Beach: try Frenchy's. There are a few Frenchy's but go to the one right on the beach - it gets crowded but it's a fun place.

Sand Key Park is right next to the Sand Key Bridge. If you are there in the mornings, you may hear a bagpiper - he practices there on the weekends.

I live in Tampa and my parents live in Sand Key - I hope you love it as much as we do.

Thanks everyone for the good information! If we choose Clearwater Beach instead of Sand Key, what hotel can you recommend? Thanks in advance
