Florida Beaches with Grade A clear water?
So, it’s widely known that Destin and the rest of the panhandle have the most consistently clear water in the United States.. but i’m wondering how other Florida beaches stack up in terms of water clarity alone? Specifically, Clearwater, (no pun intended) Siesta Key, Naples, Jupiter, Miami Beach?
From what i’ve heard, Siesta Key is the only one that can compete with Destin. Jupiter looks pretty clear as well.. what do you think? Love to hear your thoughts and opinions.. Thanks for humoring me. |
Ask Rick Scott that question. And please, cut the "widely known" BS

Thanks for the insightful response! :)

I think you might confusing the Panhandle's reputation for white sand with the water clarity.
Jupiter and Miami Beach have had clear water when I have visited. Palm Beach, too. But weather has a lot to do with this. |

jtems... before you make any claims on this site, you must have it reviewed by our "Board of Derogators"... as you see above, many of them have started to review your claim.... good luck...

I lived in Florida for over 40 years and the only really clear water was in the keys. The Panhandle has the whitest beaches but the water is not always clear, mainly due to the abundant rainfall. Siesta Key is nice but doesn't hold a candle to the white sandy beaches of the Panhandle.

Jtems, please ignore Dukey, he's a bitter old man.
As far as beaches, I have found the clearest bluest water in my many years of living in Florida to be around Anna Maria Island. Now there are many factors that will come into play as far was water clarity including the red tide that is affecting many of our beaches right now. Also weather, tropical storms and other factors come into play. Generally my experience has been that the gulf beaches and the keys have much clearer water than the Atlantic beaches but the farther south you go on the Atlantic the water becomes clearer. Enjoy |
