Florida Atlantic Coast Destinations?
Hi,
We are traveling with a 2 year old in April to somewhere warm, beachy. What are some good locations with nice beaches, maybe some touristy stuff, and kid friendly restaurants? thanks in advanced for any suggestions, Mo |
How about the Cape Canaveral / Cocoa Beach area? Your child is probably too young to appreciate the tours at the Cape, but they would be interesting for adults. Cocoa Beach has a nice beach area and there are lots of restaurants to choose from.

Consider St. Augustine <http://staugustine.com/visit/>.
It has a great mix of history (America's oldest city), beaches, many moderately-priced restaurants, small art galleries, and shopping (2 outlet malls). The nicest beach in the area is Crescent Beach, about 10-15 minutes south of the historic area. |
My husband and I are also thinking of coming to see Florida for the first time in mid April, what is the weather then? We are leaving the time when NE finally warms up but this is when we can leave so wondering if April is a pretty time in Florida. Other ideas we have are New Orleans and Texas. Would you go to the Atlantic coast or the Gulf?

April is an excellent time to visit Florida. Daytime highs will be in the 80's although the ocean water temps will still be chilly (by our standards, at least).
The Gulf coast probably has better beaches. _______________________________________________ Vic's travels: http://my.flightmemory.com/vogilvie |
I'd say Boca Raton - Ft. Lauderdale for the Atlantic side. But I'm not entirely sure exactly what you want - can you give any more specifics?
And cherylbr, by far my favorite place to vacation in Florida is Naples on the Gulf side. |
I think Fort Lauderdale would be your best bet.
