Hi, we are a family coming from South Africa to do a cruise departing Fort Lauderdale, we have a hire car and are returning to SA from Miami,Can you recommend any nice places to visit, we love the beach, shopping, sightseeing etc. We went to Disney on our previous trip. where can you recommend we spend Christmas and New Year

How many days will you have in Florida before returning home?

The area from Ft. Lauderdale down to Miami has lovely places, <i>lots</i> of good shopping (VERY high end all the way down to discount and everything inbetween) and some sightseeing. If you go up to destinations on the top of this page, you can read about them. You can also venture further away to perhaps the keys if, as egret asks, you have enough time. So how much time will you have, what's the age/sex of the kids and what kind of shoppping are you looking for?

FLL, had a great street fair last New Years Eve near Las Olas riverfront. If they have it this year, you could eat at a Las Olas restaurant(we did the Samba room), then head on down to the party. Try the Miami metro zoo or seaquariun. I am not sure about Christmas however. The Keys are gorgeous,,,how about them?

Definitely see Vizcaya south of downtown Miami. It is a beautiful Italian Renaissance Palazzo and garden.

I have three daughters 23,20,15 the older two would most probably like to try the night life we have three days before cruise and two weeks after cruise we would like to search for bargains as we dont get much for our sa rand any hotels or tips to get hotels would also be appreciated on way to Miami
