Florence to Rome
What is the likelihood of making an international flight departing from Rome (FCO) at 1:00 p.m. on a Sunday, if I am traveling from Florence? What is the most reliable public transportation?

The trains are excellent and reliable (no really). Very important though: DONT FORGET TO VALIDATE YOUR TICKET. There are validating tickets on the platforms. I was in a train and was talking to some nice American people, and the conductor came to check their tickets - unvalidated - 40Euro fine each - nice little earner.
I would recommend the train, it is relaxing, quick, quiet and you will reach Rome relaxed.

There are high speed trains every 30min or so from Florence to Rome Termini (90min), where you'll change to the Leonardo Express to the airport (30min). Budgeting 3hrs should be sufficient.
You MUST reserve a seat. No option. Seat reservations is included in the ticket price. You do NOT need to validate your ticket on the Florence to Rome ticket. Not sure about the Rome to airport train.

That i s budgeting 3 hours for the trip should be enough - but you still need to arrive at the airport 3 hours in advance (assuming an international flight) - which means leaving florence 6 hours before the flight - at 7 am.
Also - you should really post this on the europe board.
