Flooding in NOLA?

Can't tell from the new reports if serious flooding is expected in New Orleans from all the water rolling down the Mississippi. Any area residents have better forecasts for the next week or so?

I'm in NOLA now at a Confrence. The French Quarter and CBD are dry. I walked along the river, and it's not overflowing.

No flooding is expected in New Orleans. They're going to open up the spillway long before the water gets too high for the new levees.

The latest news is that the Corps is going to flood the Cajun area so that NOLA will not be flooded. This was to happen today so I imagine it is underway. Here is the article I just read, boom_boom.

Hmm. Reminds me of Jeff Goldblum's line in Jurassic Park, "Nature finds a way." All this flood control up and down the river has a high price. It is heartbreaking and expensive. The feds need to control growth in the new flood plain. That'll be the day! So we pay. What a mess!

It's gotta go somewhere.
Fingers still crossed for all of my NOLA friends.
