Float trips near Moab or Zion?

Hi,
We are planning a southwestern road trip and I'm interested in finding a float trip (not whitewater trip) around Moab or Zion.
We did one in the Grand Tetons several years ago and enjoyed it. We're seniors and DH can't handle white water trips.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

TAW,

There aren't any float trips very near Zion, unless you consider Page "near". I've never don one there personally, but many trip reports here mention it.

You have several rafting companies to choose from in Moab for a 1/2 trip, or a combo trip of float and 4x4 tour.

Tag a Long
Navtec
Western River Expeditions
Sherri Griffith River Expeditions (I don't know if she does a float trip or not)
plus many more

The float trips are downriver from town where the water is calm and the scenery amazing. Current is still very strong and swift, just no rapids. There are other trips that take you upriver and there are some small rapids on those.

Be sure to take a flexible, wide brim hat with strap! Sunscreen, sunglasses and quick drying clothes. You might also want a windbreaker. If you aren't going during the very height of summer temps, the wind on the river can be quite cool.

Have fun!

If you are going to be going to Page, AZ (Lake Powell - Glen Canyon National Recreational Area) then I would highly recommend the 1/2 day float trip down the Colorado River from there. Very scenic and you are in motorized rafts because the current is to slow right after the Glen Canyon Dam.

There is tubing on the Virgin River in Zion, but I wouldn't recommend it for seniors. I'm even getting to old to want to take the chance of getting hurt, but it sure was fun in our younger years.

There's one guy who offers this flat-water float as an all-day trip in an oar boat too ... but the Moab float trips are also fine.

We did a float trip from Bluff UT to Mexican Hat. It was really nice. Very well done, good food, excellent guide.

DebitNM, That float trip between Bluff and Mexican Hat sounds really interesting. I've bookmarked that link. Thanks,
