Flights to Florida

Any deals you know about flying from either Buffalo or Detroit to Ft Myers - flexible dates in November? Thanks.

I don't think you will find a lot of bargains over the Thanksgiving holidays but www.kayak.com www.sidestep.com and www.itasoftware.com are always good places for me to start.

Also, check and see if Spirit Airlines flies to a city near you. That or one of the other low cost carriers.

I scored some great fares out of Detroit to Fort Lauderdale 153.00 round trip. Got it @ Expedia. They had cheaper fares for NWA than their own home web page. Flight leaves Nov 27. Check out Expedia

The best deals for Fl flights from Buffalo are usually SOuthwest, Air Tran, and Jet BLue. I think someone is starting a non-stop, direct flight to Ft. Myers from Buffalo or Niagara FAlls (there is a small airport just outside of Niagara FAlls that does a few flights a week) in the fall also. US air also offers some good deals. In terms of good and timely service, we've had the best luck with southwest. there are probably good deals to be had until the days before the US Thanksgiving (Nov 22). Also, consider Rochester if its not too far from you. It is just an hour down the Thruway from the Buffalo airport.

Don't hesitate to look at Ft.Lauderdale flights. I often drive from Naples to Ft. Lauderdale as it's easier to get better fares and more direct flights, although I'm not so sure about Buffalo or Detroit.
It's an easy drive across --depending on where exactly you need to end up.

Spirit does non stops between Detroit and Ft. Myers, often at good prices. Air Tran does a lot of specials, but I think all their flights change in Atlanta.

Oh, and don't Spirit and AirTran both do one way tickets? I think some friends have combined the two for better pricing round trip.
