Flight to Anchorage from Seattle- When to Book?

Hello..Sister and I are going to Anchorage in August. Does the flight cost get any better a little later in the spring, or should we book now? I realize summer is a big tourist season in Alaska, many flying with cruising in mind. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks in advance...Helen

We tried to book 7 months and flights were booked solid, and this was for travel in May. We were able to go the following year, but this was booking almost a year in advance. Hopefully, you won't have this problem. If you do, just book for the following year--it goes by fast.

If you go ahead and book it from the airline and the prices drop. You can get a credit for some or all of the difference. It is good for a year,to be used for a future flight. It's just a thought. We did this for our trip, the price droped $125 ea.. Used it for my airfare to Vegas later.

hello...Thanks to you who took the time to reply--I will talk my sis into taking what we can get NOW. We are visiting our nephew in Soldatna and will probably fly ERA(think that is the connection into Kenai)for the rest of the flight. Thanks again! Helen

Soldotna is an easy, about three hours drive, from Anchorage where you can rent a car and you won't have to miss some fantastic scenery along the road. Soldotna has a great visitor center. Stop there for all maps and information about the area. When you are in Soldotna try to visit the Russian Church and Chapel in Kenai. Homer is a short about two hours drive from Soldotna. Seward is not far away too. Kenai River is busy with all fishing folks (men, women, kids)

Flip a coin. If you are like me, the prices will drop way off the week after you buy them.
