flight from Boston to Quebec
I need to book a flight from Boston to Quebec City in early July. It seems to be rather expensive. Some one has advised us to wait until we get to New York to book, that it would be cheaper than booking from here. What I've found is a one way flight for about $350 US.
Does anyone know if this is the best advice? Thanks |
It's expensive because there's minimal airline competition for this route. The prices will NOT come down.
|
It is also an extremely lengthy and tedious drive.
You might fly to Montreal and rent a car [take a bus?] from there, on the theory that you would want/need a car in Quebec. This is very frustrating. Quebec is a wonderful city which we would visit often if it weren't so difficult to get there. Montreal, on the other hand, is a city I find charmless -- like any other city in North America except that everyone speaks French, or a version of French. |
Have you tried Porter Airlines? I've never flown them, but they've been advertising very cheap fares in the Boston Globe the last few weeks. They show $149 for a random date in July, 1-way.

The problem with flying Boston-Montreal is that the airfare is almost just as high. Air Canada is the only airline that offers nonstop, so with no competition, that route stays expensive.

Have you loked at the price of a RT flight - and then just throwing away the return ticket?
Agree that I've had to fly to Quebec twice and the price was always high - since it's a not much traveled route. |
Thanks to all of you. It's good to know that it is, and will stay, expensive. I have discovered that, to Montreal is almost the same price!
I'll look into the return flight idea. I appreciate your help |
