flamingo hotel in vegas
 

Has anyone stayed at the Flamingo recently? If so, what part of the hotel has the best/newest rooms? Just getting a standard room for two. Your help is greatly appreciated.

We stayed there in August. Our room was basic, but clean. Do not know when they renovated some rooms - furnishings in our appeared to be several years (but not several decades) old. Everything worked - no complaints. (We stayed there for location and wildlife)

No idea which area has nicest/best rooms - we had view of parking garage.

I hope the renovation included no longer broadcasting oldies songs like "How much is that doggie in the window?" over and over and over again.

Hi stephen ross. I stayed at the Flamingo for 2 nights in August. At check-in (which, by the way, took about 2 hours due to the line) I asked for and received a room with a view of the strip. We were right across the street from Cesare's, but had a great view of the Bellagio fountains. Not the nicest place I've ever stayed, but no complaints about the room.

Thanks lregeo, I'm not in it for a spectacular room, just as long as it's clean it's fine. Besides I heard they have a nice pool area which means a lot for me. Is there another hotel that is around the same price better?

Our check-in in August took about 10 minutes - we were lucky, I guess.

Pool is a series of 3 pools connected by little slides/chutes. When we were there most chairs were occupied by towels (but without bodies in them) and the pools, while busy, were not so mobbed as to be unpleasant. And that was on a weekend with air temp of about 100.

Nicest thing for me, as an early morning person, was to get coffee in AM and sit outside in nicely landscaped grounds by the flamingos and penguins to read my newspaper.

sounds good Gail, how did you feel about the rooms? any recommendations as to how I should request? FYI I'll be there in April and my travel agent is saying that the package could be cheaper if I stay at Excalibur but I didn't like the looks of that place.
