Flagstaff Hotel - Help Please

I'm planning on spending a weekend in the Flagstaff area toward the end of July. What is the nicest hotel I can stay at for $120.00 per night or less?

We stayed at the Raddison for 3 nights-had good service and room. I think it's the nicest hotel in Flagstaff.

We debated about the Hampton Inn or TravelAmerica but chose R, it was very near to restaurants and shopping.

Definitely the Radisson.

We liked the Radisson, too. Got it on Priceline a couple of years ago for about $45.

If you're a gambling man, the Radisson comes up most of the time on a 3* bid on Priceline. (The other 3* hotel that has come up, according to the list on BiddingForTravel.com, is the Embassy Suites.) Using the free-rebid strategy mentioned in the Hotel FAQs on BiddingForTravel.com, you can bid for a 3* in Flagstaff and then get a free rebid by adding the Bellemont zone.

If you absolutely have to have the Radisson, though, Priceline isn't the way to go because there's a chance you could get a winning bid at the Embassy Suites (or some other 3* hotel that hasn't shown up yet in a winning bid).

Oops--what I meant to say in my reply was, "If you're a gambling man (or woman)"...can't tell from your screen name which one you are.

What about Little America in Flagstaff? We have a reservation there for the 23 and 24 of June. Should we change to the Raddison?

Thanks

I meant Little America in my post-they look very good online.

But we were there Mem. Day weekend, the town was packed and the college was filling w/students, the, maybe, truck stop atmosphere did not sound quiet enough for us. Radisson was very good.

I much prefer the Radisson Woodlands location to that of Little America.

Thanks for the help, especially from you, Don. FYI - I am a man.

I have never tried priceline.com before because it confuses me. I have read the forums at biddingfortravel.com and became even more confused.

However, if the only 3* hotels in Flagstaff are the Radisson and the Embassy Suites, then I can hardly go wrong can I? I'll give it a shot in about a month and let you all know what I ended up with (if we decide to go for sure.)

I've stayed at Little America and the Radisson. The Rad is MUCH nicer, IMO.

Like you, vegaslocal, I was afraid of Priceline, too, but tried it for the first time last month and loved it.

If you just scan the hotel posts on biddingfortravel for the city and area you are interested in, you can get a good idea of what lodging you might get depending on the star level you choose. Base your bid on the info in the posts and it should be pretty easy to get what you want or something equally as good.

If you do end up at Embassy Suites, I wouldn't complain a bit. Very close to downtown Flagstaff, but far away enough so you won't hear the trains at night.
