Flagstaff hotel
Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Flagstaff ? We will be visiting the end of January 2007 and want to stay a night or two to be close to the GC/Sedona etc.
Thanks, |
We stayed at one of the newer La Quinta Inn and Suites and it was new and a perfect location and the price was right..free breakfast and internet too..

We stayed at Fairfield Inn which also had free breakfast and a computer that you could use to get to internet. Good location and no train noise. Ask for a room facing away from the road, to be sure you have least amount of noise; although we had no problem with noise. Also upper floors have inside hallways, lower floors didn't.
Hope this helps... Debi |
While there are plenty of places on route 66, they are also next to the RR tracks and trains run at all hours.

I just want to warn you about the Holiday Inn. It was definitely the worst I've ever stayed at!

My suggestion (and I'm surprised no one has suggested it yet) would be to forget about staying in Flagstaff and instead spend a night in the Grand Canyon on the South Rim, and another night in Sedona. While Flagstaff does have its good points, it doesn't compare to the other 2 destinations.
I just did a search of the lodging at the South Rim http://www.grandcanyonlodges.com/ and there is plenty of availability every day of your trip. I'm sure you'll find that Sedona lodging is pretty open as well. The only disadvantage is that you'd have to pack up and move to a new location after one night. I think that is more than offset by the convenience on being right there on the South Rim, and right in the middle of everything in Sedona. |
Thanks everyone for your help & tips !
