Flagler Beach

We are west coast Floridians who are thinking of visiting Flagler Beach possibly as early as this coming weekend. Any of you east coasters have any input as to restaurants, hotels, things to do, etc.? Thanks.

There really isn't much to do there. It is a very laid back, old Florida beach with a pier and restaurant and one or two t-shirt shops. It's halfway between St. Augustine and Daytona - about 25 miles either way. The beach is narrow, but what is nice is that the road runs right along the beach and there are no hotels or condos obstructing your drive on the A1A.

We don't live in E. FL (actually live in Ca.) but we visited friends who live part-time in Flagler Beach and we loved it. It was laid back and we enjoyed some good and reasonable restaurants. Reminded us of the old days at the beach. We'd go back in a minute. Hope you enjoy it too.

We're considering Flagler Beach in late May --- we'll be traveling with our 3 kids (15,14,12). Would love recommendations on where to stay, eat, and hang out!
Also, are we able to fish from the pier?
Furthermore, when do Florida schools finish for the year? The kids are afraid there won't be anyone their age to hang out with. (THey're missing the point of the FAMILY vacation :-)!
