Fishing in Bryce or Zion?
Is there any fishing allowed in Bryce or Zion. If so, do you have any info as to licenseing or recommendations?
|
I don't know the answer to your questions but they are probably easily availble at the parks' websites.

"Easily available" is an understatement. It took but ten seconds after going to
www.nps.gov/zion www.nps.gov/brca to find that Fishing is not listed as an activity in either park. No surprise about Bryce, it's about as dry a park as you could imagine Not even a stream goes through these series of ampitheaters. |
Thanks for your research. I thought perhaps if fishing was not an activity in either of the parks that there would be something nearby. These recommendations would not be "easily available" on the websites.

I would have to think that there is trout fishing in the Virgin River. It may be limited to outside Zion. Normal state licensing would apply.
Lake Mead and Lake Powell certainly have fishing available but are not really close to either of those parks. |
In all my years of going to Zion and Bryce, I've never seen anyone fishing in the parks but I know that there is fishing nearby.
The first is for fishing in Southern Utah. http://www.utah.com/fish/southern_ut...ing_waters.htm This Inn near Zion says it has a pond for fishing. http://zionwatersideinn.com/ I've heard that Panquitch Lake is good for fishing and isn't to far from Bryce. http://www.panguitchlake.com/ Lake Powell is also an excellent & scenic are for fishing. On that first link is info on fishing licenses. Utahtea |
Close to Bryce: Panguitch Lake; Otter Creek Reservoir; Sevier River (parallels Hwy 89).
Close to Zion: Gunlock State Park (west); Lake Powell (east); Lake Mead (south). Be aware, "close" is a relative term in the west. |
