Fisherman's Wharf - Sheraton or Hilton?
We are going to San Francisco for a weekend soon and plan to stay at Fisherman's Wharf. We are deciding between the Sheraton and the Hilton both at Fisherman's Wharf. I have read comments here about the Sheraton but not much about the Hilton at Fisherman's Wharf.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I just stayed at the Hilton there last month. We had a nice room, good service, big bathroom, got the package with Valet Parking etc. I thought it was a nice hotel, but wish I had stayed in another area of the city closer to more nightlife. I do not know about the Sheraton but it was right there too.

Hi,

I stayed at the Hilton last year and got good service. The rooms were fine and quiet and the location is good for the Wharf, Girhadeli square(wonderful icecream) cable cars, ferries to Alcatraz, the maritime museum.
You can hire a cycle from Pier 39 ( nearby) and cycle along the bay towards ( and over the Golden Gate Bridge)- on a good day this is fantastic.
There is also the marriot across the road.
If you sear for the Sheraton FW on the web you can sign up for their guest and you might get special offers.

The Hilton FW has a fitness room but no pool but the Sheraton FW has ( I think)

Hope this helps

Regards
TBS

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I think we will stay at the Hilton since we are honors members and maybe we can get an upgrade.

Hi, Marianna,

If you are Gold or Diamond HHonors members, you should also get certificates for a continental breakfast ( there is a separate section on the left of the main hallway you walk to get to the restaurant( restaurant is on the right) & you just hand your certificate to the server ( will save around $10 per day for a full continental breakfast)

Regards

TBS

Hello TBS, thanks for your helpful information about the Hilton. Is there a concierge level for room upgrade at this Hilton? Most Hilton hotels we have been to have a separate Honors rooms area and also an area for a continental breakfast and then wine and cheese later in the day. That would be nice if they have this service at this Hilton. Thanks again!

Hi Marianna,

I think the Hilton SF has Executive Rooms but no special Concierge level or lounge ( apart from the breakfast area).
The Hilton SF website link is;
http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/index.jhtml;jsessionid=RJRDPQQPSY2WRJ31AOR2HZQ?cty hocn=SFOFWHF

The Hilton San Francisco ( 333 O'Farell St just off Union Square does have the Executive lounge open during the day.

Regards
TBS
