Fisherman's Wharf - Hotel Recommendations

We just booked a last minute flight from Colorado to San Francisco...leaving tonight! We'd like to stay in the Fisherman's Wharf area. Keeping our lodging costs low is ideal; however, we appreciate quality as well. Do you have any personal experiences you could share? Thank you!

Do Priceline.

Rack rate will not be good this late in the game.

The last time we were in SF we stayed at the Holiday Inn

Take Ackislander's suggestion and do Priceline.

At the moment, a 3 1/2* at FW is running about $65 plus taxes and fees (total around $80). Plus parking if you have a car.

If you haven't done Priceline before, please do come back and get excellent tips from Fodorites.

Otherwise, it's my understanding that the Argonaut Hotel and the Tuscan Inn are the two best choices at FW. I haven't stayed in any of the FW hotels, since I live only an hour away from SF.

If you are looking at really low prices and a bit of distance from FW, there's the Hostelling International Hostel at Fisherman's Wharf, but it's located actually a bit more westward in Fort Mason.

It's really a beautiful location and very quiet. They have private rooms going for about $58 and I believe that parking is free!
