First visit Sept 7-9

Hi. Do you need tickets to see any of the tourist attractions? Which ones cost and are free? Thanks.

It would help to know where you will visit on September 7-9.

The confusing issue of forums claims another victim... I'm sure the OP selected his/her destination from the drop-down list and assumed that doing so meant something.

What drop down list? I understand that the OP may have thought they were posting to a "state" forum, but within a state there are a lot of options.

What drop down list?

It depends.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the good attractions are half price for seniors and students.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the third line for every other attraction that begins with the letter 'M' will have half price admission until noon.

Otherwise, from 2PM-4PM you can't get near the place.

I meant the state drop-down list, starrs. I know, it's not all we need to know, but if he picked DC, for example, that would answer the question. What state did this post show up under, anyone know? I always scan the top 50, don't look by state.

This post is in the Washington DC region.

Don't you think one hammering is enough for any given poster? Please have some compassion folks.

You're right, placeu2. But clicking on the name indicates that this is not gluvscats first post. Far from it, in fact.

It would still be helpful to have some idea which attractions are of interest to you.

Oh, well, if we know it's DC, what's the rumpus? Give the guy/gal a break!

All of the Smithsonian museums and all of the monuments are free, as are the Capitol and the White House, the Supreme Court and the Mint. That said, advance tickets are essential for some of these just because of crowds in the summer; the White House tour is almost impossible to snag same-day tickets for, no matter how early you line up.

What are you interested in seeing, gluvscats?

placeu2: That's very interesting.

Would you mind sharing how you were able to determine it's Washington DC? This information will come in handy the next time there is a puzzling post with no place designation.

TIA!

I think they are going to North Dakota. There is a stiff admission there for everything. Only three visitors per year, so they have to make all their money at once.

I thought it was pretty clear.

"Do you need tickets to see any of the tourist attractions? Which ones cost and (which) are free?"

CAP...true, I did notice that as well.

easytraveler: I happened to be in the DC posting area for my own trip coming up and bumped into it. I guess it was an accident!

NewbE,

Thanks for your help. Yes, I am talking about DC. I did post in the DC forum. I'm interesed in seeing all the tourist sights, shopping, live plays, musicals. Also looking for Indain, healthy Mexican and Pasta resturants. My husband & I are staying in Alexandria at the Marriott.

gluvcats, there is no "DC forum". All posts show up in the US forum. The drop down menu is a search feature.
