First trip to SFO with a 9 month old baby (Itineary help)

Hello everyone,

We are traveling with our 9 month old baby to San Francisco, Napa Valley and Yosemite from May 25th - June 1st 2013.

This is our first trip to SFO and other areas. Not sure of how exactly to plan and how much time to spend on each places. Additionally, what else we can cover during this trip.

We are more interested in sight seeing as other things will be little difficult with a baby. Not really interested in Hiking or Biking.

We are planning to rent a car for the trip as it will be easy with all other baby stuff.
Any help or Itinerary suggestions are really appreciated.

Thanks a ton.

Well, you definitely can't plan on much else if you only have 6 days. Figure 2 days in each place, and your trip will be over before you know it!

Here are my ideas:

If you don't already have reservations for Yosemite - I would forget trying to go there around Memorial day weekend. Same might be true with the Napa Valley (2 night minimum stay at most places). It might be better to visit the Napa/Sonoma area as a day-trip by car from SF.

What are your time of arrival and time of departure? These times matter a lot on any help we can give you - traffic is a major issue on some roads.

Also if you haven't made reservations already in Yosemite, try and get something now. People book their reservations sometimes a year ahead of time. Put your name in and hope for a cancellation. Otherwise you're going to have to stay outside the park.

Would you consider flying to Oakland, San Jose or Sacramento airport? This could avoid a traffic jam at certain times.
Choose your car rental carefully wherever you fly to.
I like the easy access to I-5 and I-80 from the Sacramento airport without driving in a big city to get to Napa.
