The Silver Cloud is nice - my aunt and uncle stayed there last year and I came up from Portland to see them for the day. The location is pretty good, just up from Capitol Hill stuff and not a difficult walk (except for the hill back up!) downtown. The hotel had a shuttle last time I was there that will drop you at various points; presumably still does.

Silver Cloud Broadway should be a great location for you. Do remember to stop into the lobby lounge at the Sorrento Hotel some afternoon for tea or drinks!
