First trip to Santa Fe
We are thinking of going to Santa Fe, Albuqurque and Taos next June. Is this a good time to go weather wise and avoiding the crowds? Will we miss a lot if we don't go in July or August when the festivals are in full swing?

Summer is tourist season in New Mexico, but if you want to go to the opera or Albuquerque's June Music Festival, then June is the time to be here.
I love fall - the days are still warm, the nights cool off beautifully, the air is crisp, you can smell green chile roasting all over the place, and the balloon fiesta is the first week in October.

The average daytime temps in Santa Fe in June are upper 70's to low 80's with the nighttime temps dropping 30 degrees or so. Taos will be a bit cooler, both day and night.
Spring weather {April and May} can be a bit iffy in central and northern NM...windy and lots of blowing dust.

Just wanted to recommend this B&B which is about 20 mins south of Santa Fe. It was a wonderful experience, and the owners and their parents great company.
