Ok OO, I may take your advice and spend one night in F'burg, then head to Austin. Thanks.

Agree. One night is enuf. Actually, I'd only stay if I had to- like after a long day and just finishing up with everything

Here's a good map that shows the route I suggested to F'berg via Blanco. You would be coming up 281 from downtown SA (281 is the road you'll be on to and from the airport as well as you are staying downtown). We take 1623 to 290, but if you are interested in seeing Willie Nelson's Luckenbach, this shows the way, and is equally pretty. It's a teeny place, and I doubt there is anything at all going on except for weekends. The drive tho, after you get out of SA, is more scenic than I-10.

That's great OO!...We'll definitely take that route when we head to F'burg. Thanks!

Thank you all again for the great info. From your suggestions, I've decided that F'burg is a 1 night/2 day stop. Since we'll be getting there on a Fri, and many b&b's want a 2 night stay, I'll probably stay in a hotel for a night, then on to Austin.

Just checked lodging options in F'burg and am content to stay in a hotel for 1 night. Enchanted Rock and maybe Rockbox for the evening. I'm not sure how many nights to spend in Austin, will probably wing it since it's the off season. Thanks for the help!
