I'm not sure why the Hyatt website says that but the senior discount exists beyond the continental US and Canada. All 3 Honolulu properties offer it as well as all 5 Shanghai properties.

I'm from Australia and I often use the AAA discount on hotel rooms. I take my RAC card with me - you will have an equivalent from which ever state you are from. The card has a logo on the back "AAA Show the Card and Save" and is valid in the USA. But in actual fact I have never been asked to show it. I still take it with me though because other places besides hotels offer AAA discounts.

Hi Millie2112,

While on Maui we stayed in Wailea at this condo:

https://www.vrbo.com/504483

It was fantastic with great views, very clean and lots of extras that made it very comfy. You could walk to the beach, but it's a long walk (17-18mins). So we always took the car, which I actually prefer because we never had any issues with parking and it gave us the freedom to roam around from whatever beach we were at that day.

Wailea is a beautiful place to stay! If you want something close by that is cheaper, take a look at Kihei. It's not as lush but it's got everything you need and not far from anything.

While in Oahu we stayed at the Royal Garden Waikiki and we also loved it...this was our unit:

We walked to the beach every day 7mins roughly...as parking in Waikiki is a little trickier. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at both units and you will find both islands offer all of what you would like. You can simply drive around and you will come across beautiful sights, great restaurants and fun activities without having to plan all that much.

Enjoy Hawaii! :-)
