Since we will only have 8 full days we aren't planning a lot:

Lygate beach/park - any other recommended beaches in November?

Na Pali coast - any easy hikes with a little guy in a backpack and a 5 year old walking? Or at least a nice lookout point to take pictures?

Waimea Canyon - Take pictures from the lookout. Any easy hikes here too?

Hanalei Bay - Is it nice in November? Anything else in the North to see? Heard it isn't the best weather in the winter, but we at least want to drive out and see some scenic views regardless of the weather.

Hmmm... other than that we want to see the Taro fields, and eat good local food :)

Be sure to listen to the surf reports before you head out in the morning. Anini Beach is probably worth checking out with little ones. I beleive Hanalei Bay has a life guard station, so you can check with him/her to see if conditions are safe.

Re Na Pali coast hike - personally, I would not take little kids on it (but I have seen some on the path). I'm only 5 feet tall and in decent shape, and the hike is difficult for me because you are walking up big rocks for part of the trip.

For an easy hike, I suggest the Kuilau Ridge Trail. It is beautiful and definitely easy. However, do not leave anything of value in your car while you hike.

Go south to Waimea Canyon, then to Kokee State Park.

Glad to help. Be sure to hold onto your kids -- it's a long way down!! There's lots of roosters around Kauai, and tons in Kokee....
