First Time is Hawaii
 

We are planning to go to Hawaii first time. we have 8 night to spend there. Any advise which Islands to stay for good beaches, fun activities for kids (girl 7 years old), good hotels with nice pools, etc. <BR>Thanks <BR>MVP

You could do two islands if you like. I hear Maui is great for families, although we have been to the Big Island, Kauaii and Oahu. Each island has something different to offer. The Big Island is, well, BIG. One side of the island is more lush than the other. There is lots of lava on the Big Island!! While there you could explore the Volcano National Park area or take a short hike to access some of the more secluded beaches. Oahu is more like a bustling city with high rises and easy beach access. The sunsets are wonderful and there's lots to do there. Kauaii offers the most spectacular scenery and is the very lush and tropical. We found it was more serene, yet offered a lot to see and do, including hikes, snorkeling, torch lighting, waterfalls and hula dancing...etc...Whichever island you choose, I bet your family will love the visit.

The Big Island has alot to offer and is our favorite. Volcano National Park is a must and a helicopter ride over the flowing lava is spectular. Also the Hilton offers a Dolphin program for kids. We enjoyed going up to the observatory and stargazing it was pretty amazing and lots of children were there. Dress warm though it gets quite cold. There are great beaches just north of Kona and waterfalls galore on the Hilo side. Enjoy

Oh relax, previous responder. <BR>Maui has a little of everything for families, great beaches/snorkeling, good weather (a little windy). Kaanapali may be the best place for a first-timer. If you do two islands (I would not do three with only 8 days) bear in mind that you will blow practically a whole day in interisland travel.

JEEZ, if you do some research you'll realize that your attitude is not wanted here so go fornicate yourself. <BR> <BR>Just go to Oahu and stay there! If you don't like the city, find a B&B on the North Shore.
