First Time in Vegas
 

I am going to Vegas for the first time in Feb. 2004, & am having trouble deciding on which hotel to stay at. I have narrowed it down to the Paris, Bellagio & Treasure Island for no particular reason but they all seem fairly central on the strip. Any advice on the above hotels & their pros & cons would be appreciated.

Differant hotels with way differant prices....like apples and oranges and pears. There are loads of info(both here and cheapovegas.com) that I looked at when I made my decision to stay at Paris....location, price and overall atmosphere...Paris SEEMED to have the most going in those 3 categories IMO. Bellagio was just tooo pricey for my pocketbook. Judy :-)

Well, since you say that you have it narrowed down to these three, I guess the price is ok with all three?
Then I would recommend the Bellagio .
IF not that, then the Paris.
The Bellagio is wonderful, you can do a search and read the numerous threads about it.
The Paris is across the street, facing the Bellagio. It is new, nice, but not in the same class as the Bellagio.
Treasure Island is at the far end of the strip away from the two other hotels.
It is across the street from the Venetian, which is also a nice hotel.

Easy...Bellagio all the way. The other 2 are OK but Bellagio is a step above in every way except being more expensive.

Bellagio is not ALL that! It's great to visit but not worth all the praise everyone gives it, been there done that!
But again if you have't been there, and are willing to pay, go for it. If not, Paris has great ambience, easy going and as centrally located as Bellagio.
Both have nice rooms and decent restauants. Also, both of the casinos are always fun.

If you go with Bellagio (and I suggest you do), you should definitely get a
lakeview room facing the fountains.

What about Venetian? We stayed there a few months ago and loved it. The rooms are all suites which are fantstic (the location is right across the street from Treasure Island. Paris had a neat casino with the legs of the pseudo Eiffel tower coming through the ceiling. We had the best luck gambling at TI.

How many nights will you be there? You could split your trip between at least two of them. It can be a pain but fun too, if you're there long enough to make it worthwhile.

Personally, I'd choose Paris. Then you can also have the best of Bellagio, which IMO, is a view of the fountains.

You'll have fun wherever you stay!

As for Paris, the casino sucks for blackjack players, they pay 6:5 and have other rules to take the edge away from the player (no S17). You might as well just hand your wallet to les gendarmes. If you post what you're looking for in a hotel, you can probably get some objective advice. If you do choose Paris, as for a "P" room at checkin (you can't book a "P" room). They are the corners and are bigger than the side rooms. If you stay at the Bell, the upgrade to a fountain view room is probably worth it for your first visit. TI is undergoing a facelift and might be worth checking out by the time you get there. You might want to consider Caesars Palace, also, I enjoyed it very much last month. They have a lot of construction going on and if it's done by Feb, definitely worth while - best shopping space in Vegas. If you're into designer shopping, Aladdin, Caesars and Venetian are the places to go. At many of the hotel websites, you can sign up for email updates and get some good offers for hotel rooms and package deals. I always get decent offers from Bellagio, Mirage, Mandalay; Caesars is a little tight.

Check out the Venetian as a possible for your list. Has a good location, huge, nice rooms and beautiful surroundings, and should be cheaper than Bellagio. I have never stayed at Paris, but I found the casino area kind of crowded and very smoky compared to some other casinos. Good luck!

You've picked a good month. I agree with other people-Try the Venetian-all suite hotel. All your choices are good-but like someone wrote very different class of hotels. My thoughts: Bellagio is a must see-but very expensive (use your money elsewhere) TI (Treasure Island) going thru changes right now-They don't have the Pirate show anymore. "They suck!" Paris-nice hotel, good restaurants nice view of Bellagio...but you can do better-By the way-The Venetians is located across from the TI (It's a good central location-also the mall is right there and the Venetian has a great shopping collection too- ...Good luck with your treavel plans-remember theres alot to do off the strip too...a 30 to 40 minute travel time and you could see either Lake Meade or Mt Chareleston, or better yet- Red Rock Canyon!
