First time in San Diego

Will be arriving Thursday night and departing the next Tuesday afternoon. Will have a rental car. Would like to stay somewhere with a view of the ocean. Thinking about Crystal Pier and then Punto Morrow. Anyone familiar with these hotels? We enjoy driving and scenic beauty and out of the way places. Help?

I live in San Diego. Crystal Pier has been mentioned many times on this board and if you do a search here you will get lots of details from people who have stayed there. I have no idea what or where Punto Morrow is.

We have had relatives stay on Crystal Pier. It is nothing fancy but there is a lot of activity around their. The teenagers loved it. If I remember right the rooms have small kitchens. If the weather is nice it is a great place to be. We are going though a summer spell right now with warm weather.

I don't actually know of very many pretty drives in San Diego, it is so populated, and you can't see much of the ocean from the 1 HWY. You might consider driving up the mountain to Julian, it is a nice town to visit.<BR>Have a great vacation!

Check out the best Western Blue Sea Lodge. Direct oceanfront with a nice pool. Rooms nice but just average. Can't beat the location for the price.
