First time going to the Myan Riviera
 

My husband and I are going this week-end to the Riu Yucatan, any advice?

I've been down that way several times? What type of advice are you looking for?

Also try posting your questions on the Mexico forum--you might get more responses.

Here's my advice:

1. Remember you are in another country, not the USA.
2. Search Fodor's "Mexico" forum for excellent advice on your topics of interest.

I just went on the weather station and it shows alot of scattered showers, which don't thrill me, however we are staying at the riu yucaton, have you seen it or ever been there?

I've been there and the Riu Yucatan is nice. We stayed at the Riu Playacar right up the road shortly after it opened, and I had a pedicure done at the Yucatan. ;-)

For shopping, you will find the best prices (in order) in Playa del Carmen itself, then at the "Playacar village" shop by the Riu Playacar, then at the gift shop at your resort. Just walking down the road to the village show ill save you 20%!
