first time cruisers taking our parents to alaska

We are considering Celebrity Spirit cruise in July with two elderly parents....Any suggestions?

What are you considering elderly?

Gardyloo Feb 19th, 2003 06:20 AM

Your first big problem is that the Spirit is a Carnival ship, not Celebrity. VERY different lines; I suspect your parents would enjoy the atmosphere on Celebrity more than the "fun ship" nature of Carnival.

Go to the message boards at www.cruisecritic.com for plenty of advice, but quickly determine which line you're looking at.

Is there a reason you have posted this question twice? You were already getting some advice the first time, when you actually gave more information than here.

Yes Patrick, because I am stupid...I couldn't find my first mesg and then when I did I couldn't delete the second....Thanks for making me feel like an ass as a new user....karan

To eveeryone else thanks for all your help....I really do appreciate it. It is a carnival spirit cruise with my husbands father who is 82 and in great shape and my mother who is 78 and coming along nicely. I think they will have a wonderful time.... Again thank you all...Karan

Why in the world would you feel like an ass, because I tried to help you?
Geez if you're that sensitive please let us all know what cruise you're going on so we can avoid it. There's nothing wrong with being new and unfamiliar with the site. A logical response would have been, "yes, I couldn't find my original post. How do I do that?"

Patrick Feb 19th, 2003 07:44 PM

And by the way, if you do find your original post and see my high praise for you, maybe you'll feel just a little bit guilty for being so rude, when I was trying to be so nice.
