First night where to eat in waikiki?

I'm staying at the Park Shore Hotel (end of Waikiki) looking for a place that is close by, where you can relax after a flight. The hotel has a Denny's looking for something better. A place within walking distance. Any suggestions?

Which end of Waikiki, and what price range are you looking for?

Even though this is on the other end of Waikiki from where you are staying...will pass it on anyway..

At the end of Lewers St. on the beach is Outrigger Reef hotel....the Shore Bird Restaurant...is fun to eat..It is right on Waikiki Beach...you cook your own fish, pork, beef, on big B-B-Q. If you get there early (or just lucky) you can get a window seat next to the beach....the sand and water are next to you....good place to eat..have a couple cocktails and wait for the sun set.
Do not remember the prices...but are reasonable....have eaten there several times.

We went to a beachfront place that sounds a lot like shorebird; also liked Cheeseburgers in Paradise for fun. If you're dead tired after the long flight, you may not appreciate expensive food....

Tiki's is in the Aston nearby. They have good food. Try to go fairly early to get a seat on the lanai so you can watch the sunset; it can get pretty crowded.

Across the street from that is the Waikiki Beach Marriott. I don't know if their Ocean Terrace bar serves food, but that's also a nice place to unwind with drinks.

The hotel is the Park Shore Waikiki. Does this help?

Is that right by Buzz's Steakhouse?

Park Shore Waikiki is all the way at the Diamond Head of Waikiki, on Kapahulu across the zoo. Azgrl, did our suggestions not sound too good?

I like Tikis at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel much better than Duke's.

Thanks for the suggestions, all of them sound good.

Oh, other end. Cheeseburgers in Paradise is a great spot. My old favorite is anything at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider. The food isn't great, but the aquarium is nice at the Pacific Beach Hotel. Was Shorebird where you cook your own meat?

Surprised no one has mentioned Duke's.

Right up the street is Hula's Bar and Grill. Definetely not Denny's... There is a predominance of young men but there are also women patrons from time to time...

Putting in a plug for Tiki's. It's closer than most, fun, and the food satisfies.

Don't forget to put in a good word for their newest hostess, Cymri, aka islandsurfergirlwanabee or something like that. You can't miss her, good-looking, just like her father.

The Park Shore has some renovated and some not renovated rooms. BE SURE you are in the renovated rooms. Rooms are tiny.

We always like Moose McGilicudys sp? is on Lewers St. Not on the Beach though. Denny's was terrible, I don't suggest that.

The Waikiki Marriott 3rd floor terrace (by the pool) serves burgers, sandwiches, etc and of course those great tropical drinks. My favorite was the Blue Tahiti, yummmm.... Anyway - they usually have entertainment up there too and the sunset is so pretty from the terrace, which overlooks the beach just across the street. On Monday nights there is a great little show (called "Sea Breeze, I think) - they have the hula girls and sing the usual hapa-haole songs, but they also sing several songs written and recorded (some of the award winners, too) by local performers. No cover charge, great atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
