Fire near Copper Mountain?

I will be going for a conference to Copper Mountain resort Saturday, June 15th. Is that area affected by fire?

As far as I know, it is not. (At least they haven't mentioned it on the news.)

Good fire information can be found at:

http://www.9news.com/

No. Summit County is unaffected, as is 99% of Colorado.

The 87,000 acre Hayman fire is from Lake George to Roxbury Park - not close to Copper Mountain. The 7,000 acre Glenwood Springs fire is also not near Copper Mountain. Although Colorado has been declared in a state of emergency - there are many, many areas not affected by the fires. Several National Forest Areas have been closed as a precaution, but there are still many great areas open.

Those of us that live in this beautiful state only ask that one you come to visit this year - please be very careful with fire, cigarettes, etc.
