Finger Lakes 1 week rental help?

Trying to get a place (not motel, somewhere like a condo or cottage), preferably Canandaigua, for a week in August. Any suggestions other than VRBO (nothing there)? Thanks!

Sylvia 3 -- Friends who live in the area recommend this web site: http://www.bandbfingerlakes.com/bbs.htm for a B&B --
In Saranack Lake, we have once been to the Point - it was worth every cent! You may want to google this get-a-way, it is an all inclusvie respite from the world --

Many thanks, those all look gorgeous! Alas, we dragging two adult children with us to a family event, so we need more space (and a reasonable price, of course).

Nothing on vrbo?

I did a simple web search for vacation rentals canandaigua and got a lot of websites. No personal knowledge but here are a few

Nothing available at a reasonable cost (some at $2000/week, many Sat. to Sat. only)!

Sylvia, this one is $1250/week. While I would worry why no dates are taken, it looks nice to me. http://www.vrbo.com/135130

Thanks, all; but slightly off topic, what is this add-on nonsense? $255 security deposit (you get $200 back), $80 cleaning fee, AND 8% booking fee? Plus, sheets and towels are not provided! Geez...

I'd be put off, too, by the 8% booking fee (is this a private rental, or are they paying an agency?). I don't mine the security deposit, but why do you only get back $200 out of $255, since you're paying a cleaning fee separately? What's the $55 for? And no sheets and towels would be a complete deal breaker for me -- I don't travel with my own linens!!

Really, packing your own sheets and towels? Not at current suitcase checking prices! Anyhoo, one of the websites given resulted in success, so again Fodorites have come through!
