Finding Steve Perry

Strange question but I am planning a trip to san diego and just wondered if anyone could advise me if im likely to see Steve Perry around this area as i believe he lives there. Im a big fan and it would make my holiday if there was a chance of bumping into him.

Thanks

I have lived in San Francisco for 43 years and have never once bumped into my own husband on the streets of San Francisco despite working in buildings just blocks apart. I assume you're kidding.

Unless you read on some fan site or something that he hangs out in a particular restaurant or club (that you can get into), or you can afford to hire a private detective, your chance of doing this is essentially nil.

I thought he was more SF based than SanD?

sf7307 Sep 24th, 2016 11:35 AM

Kal, he shows up for Giants games from time to time but I don't think he lives here.

Thanks for your replies, a bit disappointed but hey thats life!

You never know where you might spot a celebrity. My friend had the actor that played opposite Ben Affleck in Batman run past his porch almost every day while they were filming in the Detroit area. It took about a week before he realized who it was.

Yes, you can see random celebrities in random places - James Caan at the gas station, a "Lou Grant" actor and a General Hospital actor at Art's Deli, the couple that won Amazing Race a few years ago at the airport, for example, but you can't plan for it.

Planning to "bump into" somebody sounds a little suspicious.

<James Caan at the gas station, a "Lou Grant" actor and a General Hospital actor at Art's Deli>

Lou Grant?? It's 2016, lol.

Google in search of Journey fan message boards and ask there. There may be some places that are known to be his favorite haunts. OTOH he's kind of famously private, so maybe not! In any case, good luck!

(Rumors of a reunion ahead of a Hall of Fame induction are swirling--again, lol.)

sf7307 Sep 26th, 2016 07:42 AM

I know, I know, I just can't keep up. Random celebrity-spotting in LA is not all that rare, but it's still RANDOM!!

NewbE Sep 26th, 2016 07:55 AM

Oh it is, I was teasing! Try "celebrity" spotting in DC, lol. My big spot one day was Mort Kondracke!
(And if you get that reference, you're even wonkier than I...)

sf7307 Sep 26th, 2016 08:25 AM

Well, I once walked right by Helen Thomas on the sidewalk outside the White House press pool area. Does that count?

NewbE Sep 26th, 2016 08:34 AM

Of course it counts! She was a legitimate celebrity in DC!

I was seated next to David Hyde Pierce at dinner in NYC on Saturday. ;)

NewbE Sep 26th, 2016 08:42 AM

Hey, no fair, he is a Celebrity with a capital "C" :-D

BigRuss Sep 26th, 2016 08:50 AM

<<I was seated next to David Hyde Pierce at dinner in NYC on Saturday.>>

Well, there's a celebrity who'd actually be interesting to talk to.

elberko Sep 26th, 2016 09:00 AM

To be clear, we were at different tables, but seated feet apart on the same banquette. No talking.

EJ_USA Sep 26th, 2016 09:24 AM

I was seated in front of Warren Buffet while watching a Broadway show once. Just thought I'd throw my two pennies in :)

I hope the OP doesn't mind, but I sure like the direction this thread has taken, lol.
