finding direct flight schedules through the end of 2011
 

I am trying to find direct flight schedules for the most popular cities in the USA for airlines such as Delta and Airtran that would start leaving from Rochester, NY and then from the first destination we arrived at schedule another direct flight to another popular city. I have visited Delta's site and their flight schedule is 156 pages long and includes other countries, I need something & you can't sort or search their document/schedule for exact locations and it doesn't tell you their most popular sites. Does anyone have any suggestions as how I would go about finding such information? It would be greatly appreciated for I am on a timeline. Thank you!

I find that www.wikipedia.com is actually a pretty good source for a concise list of non-stop destinations.

I assume you mean non-stop flights from Rochester NY. In airline parlance direct means the same flight number, but does not mean non-stop. You may find a direct flight from Rochester to LA, with 1 or more stops along the way. A direct flight can also include a change of planes.

If you go to monroecounty.gov and then to airport link you can see all the flights out of Rochester - the list of cities is not all that long. Delta flies to Atlanta, Detroit, JFK; Air Tran to Atlanta, BWI, Orlando, Tampa.

But there are other airlines as well. The next part of your question would result in an infinite number of responses - since then each of these cities (and others if you include other airlines) - then has non-stop flights to multiple other cities. And if you mix airlines, list gets longer.

Is your question really - where can I go from Rochester, NY making one-stop/changing planes anywhere else? The list is going to be huge. Do you have any idea where you want to go?

And as far as through end of 2011 - the will show you what the schedule is for today and predicted to be on any date 300 days or less from now - but no guarantee something about the information/reservation will not change prior to departure.

I use the Delta web-site all the time. Type in the city you wish to travel to, just leave dates blank. Towards botton of page choose "Non-Stop"

Do you have special cites you wish to visit? Perhaps you could Google "Most Popular Cities in US" then start your search from cities listed there.

I don't know what you're actually trying to accomplish but there are limited number of nonstop flights from Rochester. Gail has given you a good list. New York City would be the most popular of the non stop destinations. From NYC you'll find nonstop flights to virtually every popular destination (Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, etc.) although maybe not all on Delta. Once you leave Rochester, if you go to any major city (like NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles) you'll always find nonstops to other popular cities. If you're trying to stay on the same airline, Delta is a much better option than AirTran.

You're responses were wonderful! Thank you so much for your help and input! s guess as Gail asked, to make myself a little more clear, I am trying to make a schedule for our pastor at our church. She is planning on traveling on direct (non-stop) flights from Rochester, NY to various cities to do workshops for the UCC (United Church of Christ). I don't have the cities chosen yet, my other task is to find the most popular cities flown to in the United States (via non-stop flights). I am going to choose approximately 12 cities for her visits. This is a new kind of research for me so I have no idea where to start, I am thankful for your suggestions and will be making my start where you have all directed me. If my response gives you any other suggestions for me please feel free to post any other ideas you may have in mind! :-) Thank you again!

Please do not look at "direct" flights. This is NOT the sam as non-stop. Direct can include flights with several stops. For what you want look only at "non stop".
