Finding a taxi at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
While in Virginia next month, I'm planning to see an opera at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. The show will be on a Tuesday night, beginning at 7:30 PM and concluding around 10:30 PM. I plan to take the Metro to get to the show. Afterward, I would like to take a taxi back to Virginia. Are taxis easy to come by at the Kennedy Center following a show? Thank you in advance for any information that you might provide.

I'm not sure what nytraveler is talking about but cabs are extremely easy to get after a Kennedy Center performance.
While I can't claim you won't have to wait a few minutes to get a cab, you won't be waiting long. There is an organized queue and everything. It won't be a big deal at all.

I suppose wait times are relative. One person might consider a 15 minute wait long while another person considers it short. nytraveler and obxgirl, do either of you know how many minutes the wait might be? Depending on the time, I might arrange some kind of car service in advance. Thank you both for your inputs!
