Finally a Hiatus! Please help me w/Relaxing day and weekend trips in CA

I am taking a 6 week hiatus from work beginning in June. I NEED to relax! I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I love to travel and now I am looking for interesting ideas for day trips and weekend trips in CA. I love the outdoors (and since I will not be getting a pay check during that time--I don't need the shopping or fine dining I would usually opt for.) Any tucked away lakes in Northern CA; any small towns on the ocean you have been to and haven't forgotten? Now is my chance to see new places in California. Would love to hear any ideas.
Thanks!

After the 4th of July hop over the Carson Pass (Hwy 89) explore the Hope Valley, drive up to the Blue Lakes area. It is wildflower city!

Camping in the Big Sur area.
Camping in Yosemite (make reservations quickly for a camp spot)
A weekend trip to the Gold Country (outside of Sacramento).
Lake Tahoe for a getaway.
A roadtrip to Southern California (so much to see and do!)
Cambria/Hearst Castle

I have a great book that I use.

"Weekend Adventures for City Weary People. Overnight Trips in Northern California." Carole Terwilliger Meyers.
