Film in NYC
Can anyone recommend good websites where I can find information on movie locations and times in NYC?
I am interested in: a) indie film...we usually go to the Angelika, but are ready to branch out. b) IMAX - in particular the Tyler Hamilton documentary from this year's Tour. Oh, and if there's a good website where I can find info on comedians in NYC comedy clubs, that would be great too. Thanks! |
look at the Film Forum site also.

And here are some comedy clubs in NYC- you may need to contact each individually to see who is appearing and when : http://www.hotels-travel.com/home/index.cfm?Cat=0,5,543 http://www.jimsdeli.com/nightlife/co...bs/default.htm http://www.murphguide.com/comedy.htm http://www.ny.com/clubs/comedy/ Hope these help................. |
Either Time Out New York or New York Magazine should have all theaters, movies, and times listed.
|
You can also get movie listings in the Village Voice (the Voice to us ny'ers) or NY Press. Both are free and available all around the town...
There's no lack of indie and art houses in Manhattan. Landmark on E. Houston, Film Forum on W. Houston, Anthology at 2nd St & 2nd Ave, Cinema Village on E. 11th, Walter Reade at Lincoln Center are among the best. |
movies.yahoo.com Type in any Manhattan zip code (like 10010) and select from the list of movie titles. |
I am pretty sure that TIme Out NY has its movie listings at its site. I especially recommend taking a look at the section on festivals and archives or something like that - sometimes great things turn up.

Beware of moviefone. There info is not always accurate. On more than one occasion, Moviphone has given us the wrong showtimes.
